Tourism is a major driver of economic development in Vernon County.  According to the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, total traveler expenditures in Vernon County in 2007 were approximately $46 million, creating the equivalency of 570 full time jobs and ranking Vernon 56th among 72 Wisconsin counties. 

Visit us for world class trout fishing, hunting, bicycling, motorcycling, hiking, golfing, birding, canoeing, ski-jumping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.  Take an art, wine and cheese tour through our art studios, local winery, and cheese factories.  Sample locally grown and organic foods at Farmers Markets.  Enjoy local heritage at the Norwegian’s Syttende Mai and the Czech’s Cesky Den festivals.  Celebrate agriculture at the Vernon County Fair and the Kickapoo Country Fair.  Experience nature, history and education at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve.  Have fun at outdoor music festivals such as Larry Fest, Rockin the Romance Valley, and the Gospel & Bluegrass Festival.  Participate in the Viola Horse and Colt show, Hillsboro’s Tractor Pull and Viroqua’s Wild West Days.
